Mississauga advances housing development efforts

Mississauga has made significant progress in accelerating housing development 100 days after the Mayor’s Housing Task Force report. The city expects 11,600 residential units to soon apply for building permits, far exceeding 2024 figures. Key measures include a 50% development charge discount, tax incentives, a new official plan supporting 370,000 units by 2051, affordable housing funding, transit-oriented development, and streamlined approval processes.
